Educational spooky season




 Halloween is one of the most popular celebrations around the world. Through the years Ecuador had adopted this tradition. In many schools around the country, the kids are excited about this date. Maybe you are wondering what is the connection, right? but I was thinking about the way that our students can have the experience of dressing up and also learn in the process. As teachers, we can propose some pedagogical things to create activities related to the spooky season. 

The four skills can be applied to this. To begin with, listening, choose movies or videos that our kids prefer so they can listen to real audios of native speakers. For speaking, we can introduce some games when they can talk about the movies that they liked in pairs or groups. Next, reading as we know this skill is really useful for teaching new vocabulary. The use of interesting readings about stories, fairytales, and so on according to their level. Last but not least, they can write reviews or create their own stories related to the content. So let's try to take advantage of famous dates like Halloween and create excitement in our classrooms mixed with learning.
